Need To Substitute?

Noodles
Noodles are one of the easiest things to substitute with gluten free. There are many brands of gf noodles. We like the Tinkyada brand. You can find it at Valley Foods Co-Op and the Northfield Co-Op.
They can be a little more touchy to cook than regular noodles. You need to taste test them more often as they get close to the end of the cooking time so they dont get mushy. Also they need a good rinse after cooking as the water will get thick.

Cereal
Chex, gf cornflakes

Broth
Many chicken and beef broths have wheat thickeners. Use progresso, it should say gluten-free right on the back.

Sandwich Bread
If you want to offer emma something in lieu of sandwich bread. There are two main options she likes.

The first option: teff wraps. She likes these if she is going to make a traditional sandwich with deli meat etc.

The second option: Udi's white sandwich bread. Udis is our go-to brand for making toast or any recipe that call for bread in it. It can be found at Valley Foods Co-Op, Northfield Co-Op and we just started seeing it at our Cub Foods too (yeah Cub!). It mostly needs to be cooked or toasted. There really is NO option for soft sandwich bread. It just doesnt exist.

Bisquick
Pamela's works BETTER than bisquick for waffles, pancakes and dumplings (even Bella says so).

Bread Crumbs
This one is a hard one. I usually order Schor bread-crumbs on-line so I can get that nice texture. but have used toasted udi's in the food processor in a pinch.
